The GB Para Ice Hockey Team will be heading to Finland in October to attend an International Training Camp in Virumaki, Finland.
From the 9-14 October the team will be in Finland where they will have on and off ice sessions, as well as playing 4 friendly games against Finland and Sweden, who are also holding training camps in Virumaki at the same time.
The team will be captained by two experienced hockey players, Tyler Christopher and Karl Nicholson along with 11 team-mates that make the GB Squad.
This is the first time the 3 nations have attended a combined Training Camp. All 3 teams will be looking to win their “friendly” games whilst gaining further development ahead of the 2025 World Championships.
GB’s attendance at this international development camp would not be possible without the help and generosity from the Just Rifles Charity who raised a substantial amount of money so that the team can travel to the camp and have the vital experience needed to further the squads
development.
Teammates Jon Le Galloudec, better known as Frenchie, and Tyler Christopher were both in the Rifles when they were injured on operations in the middle east and have received financial help and support from the charity Just Rifles for a number of years. Without that vital support network, life would be considerably harder for them both.
