I first became aware of the sport of Para Ice Hockey after a friend of mine, Connor, mentioning it to me.
Having previously played Amputee Football I was looking for something new to get involed in. I’d never seen or heard of Para Ice Hockey until I came down to IceSheffield to watch a game and I immediately liked what I saw. Seeing disabled and non-disabled players on the same team, competing on an equal basis was amazing.
After the game I spoke to some people from the team to see if I could come and give it a go. I loved how close the Para Ice Hockey community is and how physical and competitive the sport is out on the ice.
Being a new player within the GB Programme, it feels amazing being once again being a part of an elite programme.
